Bucks Joyful Mamas are an exciting new service that offers health advice and guidance to women before, during, and post-pregnancy.

We provide comprehensive support to women residing in Aylesbury and High Wycombe, delivering personalized 1:1 support and community-based activities tailored to meet the unique needs of our service users.

Family together

We are committed to facilitating access to complementary services and are deeply passionate about empowering women across diverse communities. By doing so, we aim to effectively address barriers and drive meaningful reductions in health inequalities, ultimately enhancing overall well-being.

Our service is co-designed with the community to ensure it remains relevant, supportive, and inclusive. We are committed to anti-racist practices and provide high quality information and guidance to empower individuals on their journey.

Fiaza

Fiaza is dedicated to inspiring and empowering women through compassionate care and innovative health support. With a deep commitment to improving women’s health and well-being, Fiaza has been actively engaged in initiatives that enhance women’s health experiences—especially during pregnancy and motherhood.

From Fiaza’s background as a health improvement tutor and as a community researcher supporting South Asian women in her communities, Fiaza has guided many women toward healthier, happier lives. She believes in providing education, emotional support, and access to quality healthcare, helping women make informed choices for themselves and their families.

Known for her warm, caring nature and strong sense of community, Fiaza shows affection and respect for the women she serves. Her mission is to continue supporting women on their journey to better health, nurturing a future where every woman and baby can thrive in wellness and confidence.

Iesha

Iesha is one of the Women’s Community Health Workers at Barnardo’s, commissioned by Buckinghamshire Council to deliver support to women in the communities of High-Wycombe and Aylesbury, helping to improve the wellbeing and health of women starting their pregnancy journeys or discovering life postpartum.

Iesha has a background in psychology, focusing on human behaviour and attachment, she offers a unique perspective on the emotional and psychological aspects of health, important aspects in the transformative journey of pregnancy.

Excited to join this new team, she is dedicated to helping women navigate and thrive throughout their pregnancy journeys, doing her part to make sure every women feels valued and empowered.

Sandra

Sandra is very excited to be managing the new Women’s Community Health Workers Service and having the opportunity to achieve improved health and wellbeing outcomes for women before, during and after their pregnancies.

She is also the manager of the Barnardo’s Missing Children Support Service, commissioned by Buckinghamshire Council to deliver return home interviews to young people who have been reported missing to police and she has also managed the Barnardo’s Trauma Informed Practice project, supporting a team delivering TIP training to Thames Valley Police and colleagues within education and health settings.

Sandra has worked for Barnardo’s for over 12 years and is looking forward to guiding the team to make a difference to the lives of many women in the communities within Aylesbury and High Wycombe.

Hannah

Hannah is a passionate advocate for women’s wellbeing and empowerment, currently serving as one of the Women’s Community Health Workers at Barnardo’s.

In this position, she aspires to support women across the communities of Aylesbury and High Wycombe, helping them navigate the transformative journey of pregnancy and motherhood with confidence, compassion and care.

With a background in Media Arts, Film and Television, coupled with living and working in different countries, she brings a unique blend of creativity, cultural awareness and empathy to this role.

Her experience as an educator and administrator has equipped her with strong human relation skills, enabling her to connect with women from diverse backgrounds and ensure their voices are heard and valued.

Hannah is deeply committed to continuous learning and professional growth. She is eager to build on her experience by developing practical knowledge in public health, health promotion and community engagement, especially in addressing health inequalities that affect women and families. Through ongoing learning and collaboration, she aims to strengthen her ability to deliver interventions that create lasting impact.

Driven by passion and guided by empathy, she continues to inspire hope and resilience in every woman by helping them not just to survive but to truly thrive.

Shauntel

Shauntel is a dedicated and compassionate professional with a strong passion for supporting families, mothers, and children.  Shauntel has previously supported mums who have experienced mental health problems after having their first baby or a new baby, and who were experiencing ‘baby blues’.   She has previously worked alongside young people and care leavers, supporting them with different challenges, such as housing and employment, as well as providing trauma informed emotional support.

Shauntel is a mum of two boys herself and understands first-hand the challenges and joys of parenting, which has inspired her commitment to helping others thrive. Through her work with families and children, she has developed strong communication, empathy, and relationship-building skills, allowing her to provide meaningful support and make a positive difference in people’s lives.  Shauntel is looking forward to helping women access excellent care throughout their pregnancy journeys.
